Summer is just around the corner which means that outdoor dining and delicious food becomes more appealing. For this reason, I have some tips and ideas of outdoor dining and other good food options in the city of Chicago to make the most of this summer!
If you’re looking for more of a luxury experience with a seafood focused menu, try out Bar Mar. This cocktail bar is located on the first floor of Bazaar Meat in the Loop, which is a two Michelin star José Andrés owned restaurant. Besides delicious food the bar has great outdoor seating to make this experience even more enjoyable.
The Greek restaurant Avli located at Lakeshore East has a rooftop patio that overlooks the park. Avli has more locations, but the Lakeshore East location is the newest and has the best outdoor seating. The restaurant has a separate brunch, lunch and dinner menu serving authentic Greek dishes. Avli is a bit pricier, which isn’t strange because of the location and its views.
If you want something more casual and outside the city, Babygold Barbecue might be for you!. This barbecue-inspired restaurant is located in Berwyn and offers typical backyard dishes such as brisket, pulled pork, baby back ribs and more. The fun aspect about this place is that they have quite a new outdoor patio with nightly live music. The band plays everything from jazz to blues to bluegrass. If you’re in for a night of live music and quality barbecue food. Babygold Barbecue is a place to check out.!
Lastly, on the edge of the Chicago River, in a recently built 54-story skyscraper, you’ll find Porter Kitchen & Deck. This restaurant offers a combination of traditional American cuisine with a relaxed and sophisticated environment. They offer a wide variety for lunch and dinner. There are also plenty of options from the bar such as sandwiches, salads, seafood and entrees. Along with the delicious food they serve craft beers, classic cocktails and crisp wines. For the spring and summertime there is outdoor seating on a waterfront patio and an elevated deck that has views of the city. Great place to get some tasty food and amazing views.
There are way more options than these, but this might give you an idea of where to start. A simple Google search should help you figure out the best place for you to go this summer and enjoy the weather with some good food.
