On Thursday, Feb. 7, the Lewis men’s basketball team dealt the No. 3 Bellarmine Knights a tough loss at the Neil Carey Arena. The Bellarmine Knights are a highly ranked team nationally and within the GLVC conference. 

Lacrosse Launches debut season


The women’s lacrosse team is gearing up for their debut season as an official NCAA sport at Lewis. After their opening match against Alabama Huntsville, the team prepares for conference play in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference.  

Fans hopeful about Chicago baseball


Baseball season is finally upon us as the Cubs and White Sox both look to begin the 2019 MLB season. Both teams have found themselves on a path where fans are looking for them to succeed. 

Bullpen opens with sweep


The baseball team opened their season with a seven-hour road trip to Nashville where they swept Trevecca Nazarene 5-3, 6-4 and 6-1 on Friday, Feb. 15, and Saturday, Feb. According to head coach Tim McDonough, while the team dictated the at bats, the real highlight of the weekend was in the pitching and depth of the bullpen.

Women's basketball clinches perfect home season in senior night


The women’s basketball team concluded their 14-0 home season on Saturday, Feb. 16, with an 87-67 win over Maryville University. Turn out for the game was high as the team hosted a Playing for Preemies night in support of the Rae Strong Foundation and celebrated the outstanding careers of three senior starters: Gabby Green, Jessica Kelliher and Tierney Lockett.
