Chicago’s hit music radio station, 103.5 Kiss FM, is sponsoring a star-studded music event this summer. They will be hosting Fantabuloso May 21 at the Allstate Arena in Chicago. This event will include many of the chart-topping artists that the radio station is currently playing like Ludacris, Jay Sean, Jason Derulo, Ke$ha, Kevin Rudolf, Orianthi, Trey Songz, B.O.B. and Taio Cruz. 2. 2010 MTV Movie Awards
It has just been announced that “Parks and Recreation” co-star, Aziz Ansari, is scheduled to host the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, joining the list of other successful comedians like Ben Stiller, Andy Samberg and Sarah Silverman, who have hosted the show in the past. “Aziz is the perfect host for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, as he will bring his innovative comedy and distinctive style to the movie industry’s most rebellious night on television,” said MTV’s general manager, Stephen Friedman. When asked about hosting the show, Ansari said in a statement, “I’m so happy Ronnie from ‘Jersey Shore’ was unavailable and this exciting opportunity was available to come my way.” The 19th annual MTV Movie Awards will take place June 6, 2010.
3. “The Words You Don’t Swallow”
Hopeless Records artist, Anarbor, recently released their new album, “The Words You Don’t Swallow,” April 20. The album features the songs “Let the Games Begin,” “This Can’t be Healthy” and “Contagious,” along with eight others. This Phoenix, AZ based pop-punk group has toured with many other well-known bands like Fall Out Boy, This Providence, The Academy Is…, Cute is What We Aim For, and Every Avenue. They will be touring with artists like The Swellers and Valencia this spring. They will also be playing the Vans Warped Tour this coming summer. 4. J-Lo’s “Back-up Plan”
“The Back-up Plan,” starring Jennifer Lopez and Alex O’Loughlin, is about a woman who is desperate to become a mom and is fed up with waiting for Mr. Right to come around. She decides to enlist the help of a fertility clinic to make her dreams of motherhood come true. Unfortunately, on the day she finds out she is pregnant with twins, Mr. Right finally comes along. Zoe (Lopez) nervously tries to hide her pregnancy from Stan (O’ Loughlin), and a comedic series of mishaps occur. Their relationship is put to the test and it is unsure if it will survive through this difficult situation. “The Back-up Plan” is now playing.
5. Jessica untouched
For the May 2010 issue of Marie Claire magazine, Jessica Simpson decided to let her face go naked. Simpson was featured as the guest beauty editor of the magazine and agreed to be photographed devoid of makeup, digital retouching and hair extensions. Jessica described the four page photo spread as, “embracing the new natural look.” Her newest reality show on VH1, “The Price of Beauty,” focuses on what is considered beauty in different countries, cultures and religions.
6. “Nothin’ on You”
Hip-hop newcomer, B.o.B has certainly created a number one hit for himself with his recent single featuring Bruno Mars, “Nothin’ on You.” The song’s a summertime hit, currently sitting at number one on not only Billboard’s “Digital Songs” and “Rap Songs” charts, but its prestigious “Hot 100” charts as well, beating out the likes of Train’s “Hey Soul Sister” and Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” reign. Fans of B.o.B can expect this chart climber to come out with more hits in the near future as his debut album, “B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray,”
hits shelves April 27.
7. Campbell snaps again
Supermodel, Naomi Campbell, returns to entertainment news for (yep, you guessed it) another outburst. An ABC News exclusive regarding her affiliation with Charles Taylor, the former president of Liberia, who allegedly gave Campbell a large blood diamond, resulted in Campbell once again losing her temper. Following a series of questions which Campbell refused to answer, she abruptly ended the interview and slammed the camera to the floor. Taylor is currently standing trial for crimes against humanity and the possession of uncut diamonds used in campaign of terror in Sierra Leone between 1997 and 2001.
8. The weekend “Kick’d”Ass
The kid action/comedy film, “Kick Ass,” debuted last weekend to average box office sales. Beating out Paramount’s “How to Train Your Dragon” by $400,000 for the number one spot, the movie earned $19.8 million its opening weekend. Trailing behind “How to Train Your Dragon” was “Date Night” at number three with $17.3 million, “Death at A Funeral” at number four with $17 million and “Clash of The Titans” rounding out the top five, making $15.8 million.
